| Obverse description | A highly detailed frontal effigy of the Statue of Liberty dominates the obverse, rendered in high relief with her radiate crown featuring seven elongated rays emanating dramatically into the field. Her draped bust is depicted facing forward with finely engraved hair curls visible beneath the crown. The legend LIBERTY arcs across the upper field, while the date 2006 appears to the right of the effigy, below which the motto IN GOD WE TRUST is inscribed in three lines. The motto E PLURIBUS UNUM curves along the lower left periphery. The design, engraved by John M. Mercanti, conveys the neoclassical grandeur associated with the original monument. |
