| 正面描述 | The national arms of the Republic of Liberia depicted centrally within a beaded inner border, featuring a shield bearing a sailing ship on the sea, a palm tree, and a rising sun, surmounted by a scroll inscribed with the national motto. A dove in flight appears to the upper left of the shield, and a plough and spade are shown below. The date 2002 is divided across the lower field, flanked by the arms. The outer legend reads REPUBLIC OF LIBERIA around the upper periphery, with THE LOVE OF LIBERTY BROUGHT US HERE arcing below along the inner border. |

Liberia's early 2000s commemorative output was largely driven by foreign private mints — most notably the Pobjoy Mint and several German houses — producing licensed issues for the collector market rather than domestic circulation. KM#806 falls squarely in that category: a revenue-generating piece sold internationally, with Liberia lending its issuing authority in exchange for a licensing fee.
The series appeared while Liberia was under Charles Taylor's government, a period of severe economic collapse and ongoing regional conflict in West Africa. No meaningful domestic coin circulation was functioning at the time.
