| Beschrijving keerzijde | The reverse features a full-color applied illustration depicting two World War II fighter aircraft in aerial combat against a blue sky background. The foreground aircraft is a British Royal Air Force Supermarine Spitfire, identifiable by its elliptical wings and RAF roundel, while the upper aircraft is a German Luftwaffe Messerschmitt Bf 109, bearing a distinctive black cross insignia. A shield-shaped cartouche in the lower right of the field bears the inscriptions 'WORLD WAR II', '1939', and '1945' in bold lettering. The legend 'AIRCRAFT-FIGHTERS' arcs along the upper periphery above the scene. |

Liberia's early 2000s collector series exploited a gap in the market for military-themed commemoratives at accessible price points, flooding dealer channels with copper-nickel issues that bore little connection to Liberian history or monetary need. The Central Bank authorized dozens of these thematic denominations simultaneously, most sharing the same blank specifications across entirely unrelated subjects.
KM# 604 is one of several aircraft-themed pieces from this run. None circulated.
