| Obverse description | The full Bahamian Coat of Arms occupies the central field, depicting a quartered shield bearing a ship under sail and a rising sun, supported on the dexter side by a marlin and on the sinister side by a flamingo, both standing on a grassy mound. Above the shield rises a helmet surmounted by a conch shell crest with tropical foliage. Below, a scroll carries the national motto in two registers. The curved legend COMMONWEALTH OF THE BAHAMAS arcs along the upper periphery within a beaded border, with the date 1998 in the lower field. |
