Descrizione del dritto	Intaglio portrait of A.B. 'Banjo' Paterson in right profile, wearing a wide-brimmed hat, occupies the right half of the note against a blue and green iridescent guilloche underprint; a vignette of a horse and rider in fine line engraving appears at upper right. The central transparent window incorporates a stylised wattle branch with cockatoos, a small cottage, and the numeral '10' in optically variable ink, flanked by green and gold microprint patterning. At left, a black cockatoo vignette is set within the decorative border alongside two facsimile signatures above the inscriptions 'GOVERNOR, RESERVE BANK OF AUSTRALIA' and 'SECRETARY TO THE TREASURY'.

Descrizione del rovescio	Intaglio portrait of Dame Mary Gilmore facing three-quarters right occupies the left-centre of the note, with a fine line engraving of a slab hut and rural scene behind her and her name inscribed below. At lower left, a circular optically variable device contains interlocking gear-like motifs. The right portion carries a vignette of an elderly Gilmore seated writing, alongside the large numeral '10' and 'TEN DOLLARS' in vertical intaglio lettering; the upper right bears a colour-shifting Rolling Colour holographic patch with a black cockatoo motif, and the central transparent window mirrors the wattle and cockatoo design seen on the obverse.
