Obverse description The obverse is dominated by a large vignette of a Bell dragonet fish (Synchiropus bellus) rendered in fine intaglio detail at centre-right, set against a rocky reef underprint in soft blue and violet tones. The upper left carries the large numeral '10' and the 'Fiji' country name in bold lettering, with the Fijian coat of arms printed in the upper right corner. A Governor's signature appears below the central inscription 'This Note is Legal Tender in Fiji for TEN DOLLARS', with the legend 'GOVERNOR RESERVE BANK OF FIJI' beneath, and a traditional Fijian tanoa bowl vignette to the lower left with the caption 'I Buburau ni Bete'.
