Opmerkingen

By 1979, Rhodesia's internationally unrecognized status had forced the country to develop its own security printing capacity — hence Rhodesian Security Printing, which deliberately omitted its imprint from the notes it produced. The absence of a printer credit was a political as much as a security decision; naming a domestic printer would have confirmed the extent of Rhodesian self-sufficiency to sanctions monitors.

D.C. Krogh, who signs this note as Governor, had held that position since 1964. The Lancaster House Agreement was signed in December 1979, meaning notes from this year circulated into the brief Zimbabwe Rhodesia transition and beyond, with some remaining legal tender into the early Reserve Bank of Zimbabwe issues.
