Obverse description The complete national arms of Trinidad and Tobago occupies the central field, featuring a shield divided by a cross with three ships of Christopher Columbus in the upper and lower sections, supported on either side by two Scarlet Ibises in full heraldic posture. Above the shield sits a helmet surmounted by a palm tree, while a ribbon scroll at the base bears the national motto in the legend.
