The Central Monetary Authority was itself a transitional institution — established in 1973 after Fiji severed its currency link with the New Zealand dollar following independence in 1970, and later absorbed into the Reserve Bank of Fiji in 1984. This note belongs entirely to that interim period, issued under an authority that existed for just over a decade.
Three signature combinations across the series reflect genuine staff turnover at the CMA during the mid-to-late 1970s, not reprinting errors. Barnes held his position throughout; the second signatory changed twice. Notes signed Barnes & Craik are the earliest; Barnes & Tomkins the latest.
