Obverse description Bilingual note with the bank title BANQUE CANADIENNE NATIONALE across the top in bold letterpress. A central allegorical vignette represents Canada as a seated female figure flanked by secondary figures, with the word CANADA inscribed below. Portrait medallions appear at left and right, framed by large ornamental X numerals and guilloche underprint panels; the date Montreal, Fev. 1st 1925 / Montreal, le 1er Fév. 1925 is printed in red, as are the serial numbers flanking the central vignette. Bilingual promise clauses — WILL PAY TO BEARER ON DEMAND and PAIERA AU PORTEUR SUR DEMANDE — appear in the lower lateral panels, with two manuscript signatures along the bottom.

Reverse description The reverse is engraved in a single olive-green tone and centres on an oval guilloche medallion bearing the Canadian coat of arms with provincial shields, surmounted by the word CANADA. Flanking the central oval are two large counter numerals 10 set within elaborate lathe-work scrollwork and foliate borders that fill the entire field. The bank name BANQUE CANADIENNE NATIONALE is inscribed in a rectangular panel at the bottom centre, while the denomination TEN / DIX appears at the upper border.
