| Opmerkingen |
The Sterling Bank of Canada had a short and undistinguished run — chartered in 1905, it collapsed in 1914 and was absorbed by the Standard Bank of Canada. Notes from the full series are correspondingly scarce, since the bank never grew large enough to put significant quantities of paper into broad circulation.
The American Bank Note Company printed for dozens of Canadian chartered banks during this period, and the Sterling engagement was among the smaller commissions. ABNC's Toronto agency handled distribution of completed sheets back to the issuing bank.
