Obverse description Green-tinted note with a central vignette of the British Royal Arms supported by a lion and a unicorn, rendered in fine intaglio engraving. Numeral counters '10' appear in dark guilloche ovals at left and right, with the bank title 'THE UNION BANK OF HALIFAX' arched across the top and the text 'WILL PAY' flanking the central arms. The denomination 'Ten Dollars' is inscribed in large letterpress script below the vignette, with 'NOVA SCOTIA' beneath and the place and date 'Halifax, April 1st 1908' at lower left, alongside manuscript signature lines for Gen. Manager and President.

Reverse description The reverse is plain, printed on unadorned cream-white cotton paper with no design elements, vignettes, or inscriptions, consistent with many Canadian chartered bank issues of this period. Two cancellation punch holes are visible at the lower portion of the note.
