Pick 20 was the UAE Central Bank's workhorse ten-dirham note through nearly a decade of heavy circulation, and it shows. The series is notorious among collectors for poor paper durability — the cotton substrate absorbed handling moisture badly in the Gulf climate, and finding examples without significant corner wear or creasing requires real patience. This is one of those denominations that actually circulated hard.
The security thread specification was updated partway through the print run without a formal series break, which is why thread placement and composition vary between earlier and later dates within the same Pick number.
