Beschrijving voorzijde	Central device depicts a traditional Arabian dhow under full sail navigating stylized waves, set against two tall date palms rising from a coastal bank, rendered in crisp relief. The composition evokes Qatar's historic maritime and agricultural heritage. The field is framed by a fine inner beaded border. The Arabic legend "دولة قطر" (State of Qatar) is inscribed in a curved arc along the lower portion of the field. The dual dates "١٣٩٣ · ١٩٧٣" (AH 1393 / AD 1973) appear in Arabic-Indic and Western numerals along the upper periphery, separated by a central dot.

Aanvullende informatie	Qatar's first independent coinage followed the dissolution of the Qatar and Dubai Currency Board in 1973, when Qatar established the Qatar Monetary Agency to issue currency solely in its own name. The 1973 series, of which this is the largest bronze piece, marked the first time Qatar had exercised fully independent monetary authority — Dubai had by then joined the UAE and adopted the dirham of that federation instead.
