正面描述 The crowned coat of arms of Andorra, flanked by two laurel branches tied at the base, occupies the central field with the denomination '10 D.' divided to its left and right. The motto 'VIRTUS UNITA FORTIOR' appears on a banner below the shield. The circular legend 'JOAN D.M. BISBE D'URGELL I PRINCEP D'ANDORRA' runs along the upper periphery, while the date '1999' is inscribed at the bottom. The design is rendered in high relief consistent with proof coinage.

附加信息

Andorra's coinage authority operated under the unusual arrangement of two co-princes — the Bishop of Urgell and the French head of state — a feudal structure dating to a 1278 paréage that remained constitutionally intact through the late twentieth century. Joan Martí i Alanis served as Bishop of Urgell from 1971 to 2003, making him co-prince throughout this coin's issue. His name appears on Andorran coinage not as a symbolic gesture but as a genuine expression of sovereign authority.

The 1999 series drew heavily on religious subjects, consistent with the episcopal co-prince's role in authorizing the designs.
