| 表面の説明 | Right-facing draped bust of Joan Martí i Alanis, Episcopal Co-Prince of Andorra, rendered in high relief against a mirror-polished field. The subject is depicted wearing clerical vestments, with the truncation of the bust visible at the lower portion of the design. A circular legend in Latin reads around the periphery, with the lower portion of the inscription inverted relative to the upper, a distinctive layout characteristic of this issue. |

Andorra's co-princeship is a medieval arrangement that has survived intact since 1278, when the Bishop of Urgell and the Count of Foix resolved a territorial dispute by agreeing to share sovereignty. Joan Martí i Alanis held the episcopal seat from 1971 to 2003, making him one of the longer-serving co-princes in the modern era. His tenure coincided precisely with Andorra's first serious foray into commemorative coinage during the 1980s — a program driven largely by collector demand rather than any domestic monetary need.
