| Obverse description | Facing bust of King Abdullah II bin Hussein, depicted in civilian dress with a jacket and open collar, rendered in high relief against a mirror-polished proof field. Curving Arabic calligraphic legend surrounds the effigy, inscribed along the left and upper periphery with the king's full title and the name of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan. The Hijri date 1420 H appears to the right of the portrait, and the Gregorian year 1999 M to the lower left. A commemorative inscription noting the occasion of the accession to the throne is positioned along the lower arc. |
