| Reverse description | The central field features a bold stylized numeral '7' rendered in a modernist design, incorporating abstract geometric and mechanical motifs including a ballot box, an astrolabe or scientific instrument, and an olive branch, symbolizing the ideals of the November 7th political transition. A ring of small star ornaments frames the inner design along the border. The legend 15ème ANNIVERSAIRE DU 7 NOVEMBRE arcs prominently along the upper periphery in raised Latin letters, while the Hijri and Gregorian dates 1423 and 2002 appear in the lower exergue, flanked by decorative stars. |

Tunisia's November 7, 1987 coup removed Habib Bourguiba — the country's founding president and dominant political figure since independence in 1956 — in a bloodless transfer of power orchestrated by Prime Minister Zine El Abidine Ben Ali, who had Bourguiba declared medically unfit to govern. The Banque Centrale issued commemorative gold pieces at each five-year interval, producing both Arabic and French legend variants as parallel issues. The French legend version was aimed squarely at the collector export market.
