Obverse description Central vignette shows a traditional dhow sailing in the harbour of Aden, with the dramatic rocky hillside and waterfront buildings of Crater district rendered in intaglio in the background. The issuer's name appears in English at the top — SOUTH ARABIAN CURRENCY AUTHORITY — with the Arabic equivalent to the right, flanked by guilloche rosettes at each corner. The denomination TEN DINARS is inscribed centrally in English and Arabic, with serial number printed twice in black and two signature facsimiles above the title SECRETARY at lower right.

Reverse description Central vignette of a tall date palm dominates the composition, flanked on the left by a cotton plant in bloom and on the right by a maize stalk, with sheaves of wheat rendered in the lower foreground — all executed in fine intaglio engraving against a light guilloche underprint. Denomination values appear in all four corners, alternating between English sterling notation and Arabic script. The overall design is framed by an ornate geometric border with repeating guilloche patterns.
