Serbia's second coat of arms coinage replaced the first series following constitutional revisions that formalized the state's heraldic symbols after the dissolution of the union with Montenegro in 2006. The KM#57 type was struck for only two years before further design updates displaced it, keeping total mintage figures modest relative to the broader Serbian circulation coinage program.
