Beschrijving voorzijde The obverse presents an aniconic design typical of Islamic coinage, entirely composed of Kufic Arabic script arranged in concentric zones. The central field contains a four-line inscription bearing the Qur'anic text of Surah Al-Ikhlas (112:1–4), affirming the absolute unity and eternity of God. This central legend is enclosed within a beaded inner circle, surrounded by a circular marginal legend in the annular field containing the Shahada and the Qur'anic verse from Surah Al-Tawba (9:33) attesting to the mission of the Prophet Muhammad. The outer margin is further delimited by a dotted border and a plain raised rim, with decorative crescent or pellet ornaments visible at cardinal points on the rim. The script is executed in bold, well-formed Kufic characters, characteristic of Buyid-era gold coinage.

Opschrift voorzijde الله احد الله الصمد لم یلد و لم یولد و لم یکن له کفوا احد محمد رسول الله ارسله بالهدی و دین الحق لیظهره علی الدین کله و لو کره المشرکون
(Translation: God is One, God is Eternal, He does not beget nor is He begotten and there is none like unto him)
Beschrijving keerzijde The reverse likewise employs an entirely epigraphic design in Kufic Arabic script, arranged across the central field in four lines and complemented by a circular marginal legend. The central inscription names the Abbasid caliph al-Muti' li-llah and the Buyid amir Rukn al-Dawla Abu 'Ali Buyeh, reflecting the dual political authority acknowledged on Buyid coinage. The inner field legend is framed by a beaded circle, while the annular marginal legend records the mint formula, naming the mint of Muhammadiyya and the date of issue, year 362 AH (973 CE), in full written-out Arabic numerals. Decorative crescent or lunate ornaments appear at cardinal points on the outer raised rim, consistent with the obverse treatment. The bold Kufic lettering, slightly irregular in striking due to the hammered technique, displays the confident calligraphic style characteristic of Buyid prestige gold issues.
