A circular medallion portrait of the king is set into the upper portion of the monument. An inscribed plaque on the monument bears multilingual legends in French, Arabic, English, and Latin. The curved legend 'ROYAUME DE BIFFECHE' arcs along the upper rim, while 'EDOUARD LE PREMIER (1963-1997)' curves along the lower rim, all in raised Latin lettering.

Additional information

Biffeche is a micronation claimed by Siré Abbas Sow along a strip of disputed territory on the Senegal-Mauritania border, a region that saw genuine ethnic violence during the 1989 Senegalite-Mauritanian border conflict. Coins issued under the "Kingdom of Biffeche" designation are fantasy pieces with no circulating authority, produced for the exonumia and world coin collector market and catalogued in the X (unofficial issues) section of Krause accordingly.
