Below the portrait, a detailed engraving depicting the inner courtyard of the Francke Foundations as it appeared circa 1750 fills the lower portion of the field, rendered in fine relief to evoke the original architectural engraving. The commemorative legend arcs across the upper field in Latin characters, referencing the 300th anniversary of the institution. |
