| 裏面の説明 | The enthroned Madonna, crowned and nimbed with a radiate halo, is depicted facing slightly left, holding the Christ Child on her left arm; the Child is also nimbed and raises his right hand in blessing. The Virgin holds a sceptre in her right hand and is seated on a cloud or draped throne above the denomination numeral 10 in an exergual cartouche at the bottom of the field. The date 1743 appears on the left side of the legend, with the abbreviated Latin inscription PATRONA · REG · HUNGA running around the periphery, denoting the Virgin as Patroness of the Kingdom of Hungary. |

Maria Theresa's claim to the Habsburg throne was immediately contested upon her accession in 1740, triggering the War of the Austrian Succession. Hungary proved her most critical ally — the Hungarian Diet of 1741 famously pledged military and financial support after she appeared before the assembled nobles at Pozsony. These deniers, struck through the years of that conflict, were part of the coinage sustaining a monarchy fighting simultaneously against Prussia, France, Bavaria, and Saxony. The series ends in 1745, the year the war's German theater concluded with the Peace of Dresden.
