10 Denari Paper

Macedonia's 10 Denari note occupies an odd corner of post-Yugoslav monetary history. When the Republic of Macedonia introduced the Denar in 1992 — spelled with a single 'a' to distinguish it from the Yugoslav dinar — the transition was managed with unusual smoothness relative to the violent currency collapses elsewhere in the former federation. The 10 Denari denomination persisted through multiple print runs under Pick 14, spanning fifteen years with minimal design revision.

A watermark-only security specification on a note issued well into the 2000s reflects how little threat of counterfeiting this low denomination attracted.
