Student canteen tokens issued in paper form were common across Yugoslav institutions, and the Skopje Public Student Center continued producing them after Macedonian independence in 1991 — though whether this particular coupon predates or postdates the dissolution is often unclear without accompanying documentation. The denari denomination places it firmly in the post-1992 period, after Macedonia introduced its own currency replacing the Yugoslav dinar at par.
These coupons circulated exclusively within the student center's catering system and held no value outside it. Survival rates are low not from rarity of original production but from casual disposal — a used meal coupon had no reason to be kept.
