Reverse description Red on multicolor underprint. A central vignette in intaglio presents a panoramic view of a heavy industrial complex — likely the Hà Nội or Hồng Gai coal and steel works — with tall smokestacks and factory buildings set against a mountainous background. The denomination numeral "10" appears in an ornate oval guilloche at left and within a decorative star cartouche at lower right, with the note enclosed by elaborate floral and lotus-motif border ornamentation.

The State Bank of Vietnam — operating under the Democratic Republic of Vietnam in the North — issued this note during a period of acute economic pressure following the Geneva Accords. The 1958 series coincided with early collectivization drives in the North, and notes of this period circulated hard through a cash-dependent rural economy with limited banking infrastructure.

The printing date of 30 April 1945 in the catalog record almost certainly reflects a plate or document registration date inherited from an earlier printing authority — it predates the issuing bank's existence by several years and should not be read as the production date for this note.
