| Opmerkingen |
Brazil's Tesouro Nacional issues of this period were printed by De La Rue in London but required manual countersignature by treasury officials before they were considered legally valid — a holdover practice from earlier Brazilian fiscal tradition that created real bottlenecks in note release. The "autographed" designation distinguishes these from later printed-signature versions, and the two printings of Pick 143 are differentiated primarily by subtle typographic and color variations that specialists still debate in the literature.
The second printing is the scarcer of the two in uncirculated grades, though heavily circulated examples of both turns up with roughly equal frequency.
