背面描述 The reverse features a right-facing portrait bust of Prince Charles, Prince of Wales, sculpted by David Wynne, occupying the right portion of the field. To the left and centre foreground, the Prince of Wales's investiture regalia is depicted in detail: the coronet of the Prince of Wales rests prominently, flanked by a crossed sword and sceptre. Two fleurs-de-lis flank the denomination 10 CROWNS, which appears in the lower field. The circumferential legend 10TH ANNIVERSARY OF INVESTITURE OF CHARLES AS PRINCE OF WALES arcs around the upper periphery.

附加信息

Charles was invested as Prince of Wales at Caernarfon Castle on 1 July 1969 — a ceremony deliberately staged by Harold Wilson's government to bolster the monarchy's Welsh profile amid rising nationalist sentiment. The BBC broadcast it live to an audience of some 500 million viewers worldwide. This 1979 issue marks the tenth anniversary of that event.

The Turks and Caicos Islands adopted the crown as their currency unit in 1969, pegged to the US dollar, issuing collector-oriented crown pieces rather than a functioning circulating coinage.
