| 正面铭文 | REPUBLICA DE NICARAGUA *AMERICA CENTRAL* (Translation: Republic of Nicaragua Central America) |
| 背面描述 | The central field features a detailed depiction of a traditional single-masted sailboat under full sail, navigating the calm waters of Lake Cocibolca (Lake Nicaragua) past a rocky islet; two figures are visible aboard the vessel. Above the central scene, the legend reads V SERIE IBEROAMERICANA and BORDEANDO LAS ISLETAS DEL LAGO COCIBOLCA in two lines. The denomination DIEZ CÓRDOBAS and date 2002 appear in the lower exergue. The broad border carries the series title ENCUENTRO DE DOS MUNDOS flanking two five-pointed stars at left and right, with the thematic subtitle LA NAUTICA at the base, all rendered in high-relief proof finish against a frosted inner field. |

The Isletas de Granada are a cluster of roughly 365 small islands formed by debris from a prehistoric eruption of Volcán Mombacho, scattered across the southwestern edge of Lake Nicaragua. Nicaragua issued this coin as part of a broader series celebrating the country's natural geography at a moment when ecotourism was being actively promoted as an economic alternative following years of Contra war damage and the devastation of Hurricane Mitch in 1998.
