Nicaragua's first córdoba series, issued through the Banco Central following the institution's founding in 1960, relied heavily on American Bank Note Company — a relationship that dated back decades through predecessor institutions. The ABNC plate work on this series is among the finer commercial engraving produced for Central American issuers in the early 1960s, though Nicaragua shifted to other printers within the decade.
P#109 is the 10 Córdobas denomination within that inaugural Banco Central run. Relatively short circulation window before the series was superseded makes mid-grade survivors more common than either genuinely uncirculated or heavily worn examples.
