备注	The Banco Comercial de Costa Rica was one of several private commercial banks authorized to issue currency under Costa Rica's free banking period, which lasted until the government consolidated note-issuing rights in 1914 — the same year this note was printed. The timing matters: this series was produced just as that era was closing, and the Banco Comercial itself would lose its issuing privilege within a few years as the state moved to centralize monetary control. ABNC produced the plates in New York, as they did for most Central American private bank issues of the period.
