Obverse description The Kenyan coat of arms is depicted centrally in the field, featuring two lions rampant as supporters flanking a traditional Maasai shield charged with a cock, crossed by two spears in saltire. A scroll at the base bears the national motto HARAMBEE. The date is divided by the shield, appearing to the left and right. The circular legend REPUBLIC OF KENYA runs along the upper periphery, while the denomination TEN CENTS is inscribed along the lower periphery with the numeral 10 positioned centrally below the shield.
