| Obverse description | The post-apartheid South African coat of arms occupies the central field, depicting a Khoisan-derived shield supported by two secretary birds with wings displayed, surmounted by a sun with rays above a spear and knobkierie in saltire. The motto scroll at the base bears the legend /KE E:/XARRA //KE in the !Ui-taa language. The country name SUID-AFRIKA is inscribed to the left and right in a vertical orientation flanking the arms, with the date 2019 positioned at the top of the field and the engraver's initials ALS appearing at the base. |
