| Obverse description | Right-facing draped bust of King Sobhuza II, depicted with a beard and traditional attire, occupying the central field. The legend SWAZILAND INDEPENDENCE arcs along the upper periphery, while the name SOBHUZA II is inscribed along the lower periphery. The engraver's initials T.S. appear discreetly at the lower right of the bust. The portrait is rendered in a naturalistic style with fine detail, consistent with the work of the Royal Mint. |
