Opmerkingen

Rona, the Quebec-based hardware cooperative, issued this scrip note for internal use at its Boucherville distribution and retail operations during the early 1980s. Corporate scrip of this type was common among large Canadian retail cooperatives — it functioned as a rebate or employee credit instrument rather than circulating currency, redeemable against purchases within the network.

Rona was still a regional cooperative at this point, years before its national expansion. Notes from this period rarely survived intact; they were spent, not saved.
