| 备注 |
The Naval Officers Club Halifax token notes were an internal scrip system, issued for use within the club during the Second World War years when Halifax became one of the busiest convoy assembly ports in the Western Hemisphere. The city's population effectively doubled with military personnel, and mess and canteen scrip of this kind kept cash flowing within controlled environments without straining the broader currency supply.
Orange paper was a deliberate choice across many Canadian military scrip issues — it distinguished mess currency from Dominion notes at a glance, reducing the risk of it being spent off-base.
