Obverse description The obverse bears the full Jamaican coat of arms at centre, depicting a quartered shield charged with five pineapples, surmounted by a crocodile passant atop a royal helmet and mantling, and flanked by two Taino figures — a female supporter to the left holding a basket of fruit and a male supporter to the right bearing a spear. A scroll below the shield carries the national motto. The legend JAMAICA arcs along the upper field, with the date below the coat of arms, and the Franklin Mint mintmark appears in the lower field beneath the shield.
