Swaziland's 2015 coinage was struck just three years before the country's name changed to Eswatini — a rebranding announced by Mswati III in April 2018 to mark the kingdom's 50th independence anniversary and shed the colonial-era name that had long been confused with Switzerland. Coins of the Swaziland series effectively ended with that proclamation, making late-date pieces like this one the final chapter of an issuing authority that no longer legally exists.
