Reverse description The denomination 'TEN CENTS' is inscribed in two lines in bold capital letters within a raised inner circle at the center of the field. An ornamental floral cartouche with scrolled and foliate elements frames the lower portion of the inner circle, lending a decorative, heraldic quality to the composition. The legend 'BANK OF UGANDA' curves along the upper periphery between the inner circle and the milled outer rim.

Additional information

Uganda's shift to copper-plated steel for this denomination in 1976 was driven by the economic chaos of Idi Amin's regime, which had by that point gutted the country's foreign exchange reserves and made imported coin blanks increasingly difficult to finance. The "Magnetic" designation distinguishes it from the earlier bronze KM#2, a distinction that matters more than it might appear — the two are visually near-identical, and misattribution in collections is routine.
