| Obverse description | Special memorial effigy of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II, the sixth and final crowned portrait, facing right and attributed to engraver Jody Clark (initials JC in field). The Queen is depicted wearing the George IV State Diadem and the Victorian Coronation Necklace. The encircling legend reads ELIZABETH II 1952 - 2022, flanked by the issuer name AUSTRALIA and the date 2023, commemorating Her Majesty's 70-year reign. The portrait is rendered in high relief against a flat field, consistent with the memorial coinage issued following her passing in September 2022. |
