Additional information

The Seychelles remained under British colonial administration throughout George VI's reign, with its coinage struck at the Royal Mint and tied directly to the East African shilling zone. The 1951 issue appeared just one year before the king's death in February 1952, making it among the final colonial strikes bearing his effigy before the transition to Elizabeth II.
