| Obverse description | Bare-headed effigy of King George VI facing left, modeled by Percy Metcalfe, whose initials 'PM' appear in small lettering below the truncation of the neck. The king is depicted wearing an arched imperial crown adorned with crosses and fleurs-de-lis.
