| Reverse description | The central field features the denomination 10 CENTS in two lines within a raised dotted oval cartouche, framed by an ornate scrollwork design with curling volutes at the lower corners and a decorative knotwork device at the top. The inscription BRITISH HONDURAS is divided left and right of the top ornament in upright lettering along the inner field. The date appears in the lower exergual area flanked by two raised dots. A beaded inner border frames the entire design, with a reeded outer rim. |

| Additional information |
British Honduras maintained its own coinage throughout the early twentieth century despite being a minor colonial backwater with a population under 50,000 — the justification being its position as a commercial hub for mahogany and chicle exports moving through Belize Town. The Royal Mint struck these pieces in London across an interrupted run spanning nearly two decades, with several years seeing no production at all due to wartime metal pressures and limited colonial demand.
Mintages for individual years in this series were extremely low, some falling below 10,000 pieces.
