Obverse description Left-facing crowned effigy of King George V, rendered in high relief after the design of Edgar Bertram MacKennal. The king is depicted wearing the Imperial State Crown and robes of state with decorative collar detail visible at the truncation. The legend GEORGIVS V DEI GRA: REX ET IND:IMP: curves around the upper periphery, separated from the effigy by a flat field. A fine toothed border runs along the coin's rim.
