Obverse description The full coat of arms of the Republic of Seychelles is displayed prominently in the central field, featuring a shield supported by two marlins and surmounted by an open helmet with a tropicbird as crest, with a scroll bearing the national motto FINIS CORONAT OPUS at the base. The circular legend REPUBLIC OF SEYCHELLES arcs along the upper periphery in bold Latin lettering, following the dodecagonal outline of the coin. The date 1977 appears in the lower field, flanked by two raised dots. The design is rendered in high relief with fine detail on the supporters, mantling, and shield quarterings.
