| Obverse description | Right-facing effigy of Queen Elizabeth II wearing a diamond diadem and a pearl necklace with a drop earring, as sculpted by Dora de Pédery-Hunt. The legend ELIZABETH II arcs along the upper left rim and D•G•REGINA along the upper right rim, separated by the portrait. The Golden Jubilee commemorative dates 1952–2002 appear in two lines to the lower left of the effigy, and a small mint mark (P) is situated below, near the base of the bust. A fine inner denticled border encircles the design. |

A mint mark H appears to the right of the denomination, indicating production at the Hull facility. A denticled border runs along the inner edge of the rim on both faces. |
