Obverse lettering ELIZABETH II D·G·REGINA
(Translation: Elizabeth II Queen by the grace of God)
Reverse description The reverse bears the classic Canadian dime design depicting the Bluenose schooner under full sail, originally engraved by Emanuel Hahn and introduced in 1937. The vessel is shown in dynamic profile with sails billowing, conveying a sense of motion across open water. The legend CANADA arcs above the central device, with the denomination 10 CENTS inscribed along the lower periphery. The date appears to the right of the design, and a small designer's initial H, referencing Hahn, is present near the lower right of the ship motif.
