Reverse description The reverse depicts the Bluenose, the celebrated Nova Scotian fishing and racing schooner, shown under full sail on the open sea, rendered in fine engraved detail. The vessel sails to the left, with rigging and hull detail characteristic of the long-running Canadian dime design first introduced in 1937, based on Emanuel Hahn's iconic motif. The denomination 10 CENTS appears along the lower arc of the field, while CANADA is inscribed above and the year of issue is positioned within the design field. A small letter H mintmark appears to the right of the ship's hull, denoting the Royal Canadian Mint. The entire composition is enclosed within a reeded border, with the proof surface lending exceptional contrast between the mirror fields and frosted devices.
