| Obverse description | The fourth definitive effigy of Queen Elizabeth II, designed by Ian Rank-Broadley, depicts the monarch's right-facing bust adorned with the Girls of Great Britain and Ireland Tiara. The portrait is rendered in fine relief against a polished field, with the legend ELIZABETH II AUSTRALIA 10 CENTS arching along the upper periphery. The designer's initials IRB appear truncated below the portrait. The overall composition follows the standard Ian Rank-Broadley obverse design adopted by Australian coinage from 1999. |
